Marty's Notes: Day 13

I actually felt good today.  Still sore butt but so what.  Nice day today's forecast was suppose to be a high of only 60 degrees.  It must of been in the upper 60's with mostly sunny skies.  Also, the headwind was not so bad.  No tailwind, however.  A good amount of hills today.  One right out of Crescent City was five miles long, biggest hill yet.  We actually beat Soo to Patrick's Pt. SP so we kept on riding.  We rode 92 miles today and I felt that I could have continued.  Hopefully, that will last for the rest of the trip.  At Patrick's Pt freeway exit, we saw our friends from Lynnwood the Johann's.  They are heading north after touring California.  What a suprise.

We crossed into California today.  We peddled through some redwood forests.  Those trees are amazing.  Also, saw some beautiful rivers and coastlines.  Looking forward to a rest day tomorrow and watching the fireworks.  Have a safe 4th of July everyone.

The bikes beat the Sag Wagon ?--ha!--the Sag Wagon crew was trying to kill two hours by intentionally dragging ourselves s-l-o-w-l-y through the Trees of Mystery trails.

But the bikers did a great job today burning through 92 miles.
