Forgot to mention that last night at Safeway, we met Ft. Bragg's official Santa Claus. During off season, he is 'Kent' the checker at Safeway. Right beneath his name plate, was another one that read, Official Town Santa Claus. :o) Nice man. Yup, he had the twinkly eyes. And ok, I checked out his girth to see if he was truly Claus-worthy. It's only July, he has a few months to beef up. My boys are way too old to believe in Santa now, but their goofy grins when they met "Kent" still testify to that spirit of Santa that lingers on way after we grow too old to believe.....
What an interesting adventure this has been.
We've hit a heat wave here on the coast. Temps along the beaches are up into the 80s today. A long hot day of riding for the dynamic duo. Think they'll burn some major calories today. We're going to have to beef up Jordan. Think he's lost weight on this trek; he wasn't all that dense to begin with. There's a cookie factory here. We're going to have to load him up on shakes and cookies.
